What Indie Farming Sims Can Improve From Stardew Valley
Highly acclaimed simulator for indie farmingStardew valley has been able to stay relevant for many years after its launch. However, there are still things that other farming sims can improve upon.
Developed solely by Eric Barone, he has been able to keep his game relevant through updated content to the most recent co-op mode that is both local and online. Stardew Valley is a well-respected sim, but it has its share of issues that still need attention. Cloudscape is another sim for indie farming, created by Chris Gottron. It’s now that Stardew Valley has what it needs.
Stardew Valley’s Resource Management and Equipment
This problem is compounded by the fact that the character does not have enough equipment slots. Only hats and boots are allowed to be worn permanently. Rings cannot be stored in the backpack. This means that those who venture into Stardew Valley to find resources will always have weapon slots taking up inventory space. If players bring food or other equipment, it could even increase. Cloudscape will have a lot to do with combat. It will also need separate equipment slots for weapons and armor if it hopes to improve Stardew Valley.
Stardew Valley’s relationship problems
Stardew Valley’s colorful cast of characters is one of its selling points. Many of them are eligible bachelors and bachelorettes. Players must first determine which items the characters prefer and then gift them gifts. This system is complicated because players can only gift one character once per week. The system limits players to giving 2 gifts per week, which encourages more gifting than romanceable NPCs. The gifting system is too slow and takes a lot of resources. Depending on the NPC’s preferences, the item may not be available in sufficient quantities. Although a birthday gift can guarantee a heart, it is possible to give multiple gifts to achieve just one heart.
There is also the issue of disparagement between spouses in Stardew Valley. Players are given cutscenes for achieving enough hearts with the characters. However, when players marry a character such as Abigail, they lose all of their personality with limited dialogue, and all they do is stand around the farm.
Stardew Valley has no true end
.Stardew valley ends technically at the end of the third year when the ghost of the grandfather of the player character rates their progress on the game’s progress. To be successful, you must have a fully repaired village center, a minimum of 8 hearts for each character, and a happy farm with happy animals. The game will continue regardless of how far the player has come. The player decides if they want to continue playing. Additionally, the game encourages repeat playthroughs by allowing them to add farms. Fans are now wondering if the 1.5 updates will be available on all platforms.
New farming sims may benefit from having a clearer end goal. The player can choose how to achieve that goal. Cloudscape seems to have a clear end goal. The objective is to escape the island and return to the home of the playable character. Although it is impossible to predict if there will ever be a post-game Cloudscape, having an objective right from the beginning is enough to motivate players to survive. Cloudscape, despite having farming simulator elements in it, is an action-adventure RPG. This means that the story will not be as open-ended as Stardew Valley.
