Injustice 3: Release Dates, Leaks and Everything You Need to Know
Rumours have been swirling that Injustice 3 Warner Bros DC Comics comics smash-up has been in the planning stages for some time. NetherRealm Studios, for instance, was looking for new-gen employees to work on the two major fighting game franchises.
It’s difficult to believe that it has been so long since Injustice 2 was released in 2019. However, Mortal Kombat 11 is no longer supported by NetherRealm. This leaves plenty of room for DC Comics-inspired entries.
We’re curious to see what happens next. Here’s everything we know so far about a possible superpowered sequel.
1 December 2021 –
Ed Boon, Creative Director, posted a tweet with a fake tease about Injustice that involved Keanu Reeves. Fans are left wondering what it could have been, even though he confirmed that the tweet was a joke.
Jeff Grubb, journalist and host of a new Giant Bomb YouTube video, suggested that NetherRealm has been influenced by issues related to WB Games.
The bottom line is that NetherRealm has abandoned plans for Injustice 3 and now focuses on Mortal Kombat12 as their next project.
Grubb spoke on the Giant Bomb, saying, “It aligns with the reality, and it matches up with what it has been told, where Mortal Kombat 12 would be the most sensible, because it’s a game that they know will make money, it sells well… Mortal Kombat 11 is great, it’s doing very well, but if you come out the Mortal Kombat 12 will also sell and do extremely well.”
“At the very same time, you don’t have to use any of those Batman or Superman characters tied up in licensing if your goal is to get rid NetherRealm to whomever.”

NetherRealm announced that it would no longer support Mortal Kombat 11. This is to concentrate on a new game. It’s not clear if Injustice 3 is the case, but it’s very likely.
