The Ten Rings terrorist group were the villains who put Tony Stark in a cave prison and tried to force him to create a missile when he instead created the first Iron Man suit of armour.
The leader of this terrorist organization is Shang-Chi’s father, Wenwu, in Shang Chi Legend of the Ten Rings. It is a likelier chance that the use of the Ten Rings back then was just as a throw-away name for an enemy faction to oppose Iron Man. They are still prominent thirteen years later, which speaks volumes about the success of the MCU experiment. Iron Man would not exist if the Ten Rings didn’t capture Tony Stark in Afghanistan. The movie finally reveals the people behind Iron Man’s creation. It would be interesting to know if they acknowledged their part in this.
Everybody Was Kung Fu Fighting
As Thor expanded the minds of Phase One viewers to mythology and Guardians of the Galaxy established the cosmic realm in Phase Two, and Doctor Strange expanded into the realm of magical in Phase Three, so must Shang-Chi introduce martial arts to the MCU for Phase Four. Martial arts combat has been used throughout the MCU in various ways but never has there been a movie in the specific genre. Shang Chi is the first movie to feature kung fu. In the first Iron Man, the Ten Rings were depicted as guerilla fighters fighting in Afghanistan’s desert. But here, they are more like skilled fighters and ninjas.

Marvel fans will be able to experience the exciting action of kung-fu combat through Shang-Chi, a superhero who is considered the best fighter in Marvel’s canon. This will also make it a new experience when he takes on Mandarin in a kung-fu showdown.
Flavour of Phase Four
The major keyword for Phase Four so far has been “multiverse.” What will this element look like in Phase Four? It is clear that Spider-Man: No Way Home has a connection to Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness. There are also obvious connections between these movies and MCU’s Disney+ shows Wandavision, Loki and Loki. How does ShangChi fit in to this major thrust Or would it completely ignore it? It is interesting that Wong has been included in the story of Spider-Man or Doctor Strange. Wong may have information on Shang-Chi or warn him about a growing danger. Shang-Chi premieres ahead of Spider-Man or Doctor Strange. Perhaps this movie is where the danger lies.
