Destiny’s Gjallarhorn finally comes to Destiny 2 this December
Bungie will mark its 30th anniversary with some classic weapons for Destiny 2 in the coming year. Gjallarhorn will be the most notable addition to Destiny2.
Tuesday’s Destiny Showcase provided players with a glimpse at The Witch Queen expansion, Season of the Lost and other exciting changes to Destiny 2 in the coming year. Players expected those announcements, as they’re similar to what Bungie showed off during its 2020 Livestream. But Bungie’s 30th-anniversary event likely came as a surprise to those who haven’t been paying attention to Destiny rumours over the past few months.
Players will have the opportunity to dive into Destiny 2 and grab some of the most loved weapons from the series, such as the Eyasluna handheld cannon. Bungie’s Myth even has a sword. While the December party is free, players can purchase an anniversary pack that includes a new Dungeon set from Destiny’s original “loot cavern” as well as the Gjallarhorn.
Gjallarhorn was an Exotic in Destiny and was often the key to getting players into specific raid groups. The rocket’s Exotic perk, Wolfpack Rounds, caused it to explode into a swarm of smaller rockets that then searched for a new target. This is how Guardians defeated Crota and Atheon in the original game. Bungie promises a weapon that will live up to expectations, with the sequel finally getting it.
Bungie will also launch a Nerf version to its iconic rocket launcher so that players can use foam darts against their real-world opponents.
Later in the year, the studio will provide a more detailed look at the content.
